Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for ensuring all equipment and documentation is ready for production when first shift team members arrive. This includes, but is not limited to, verifying all equipment is clean and operational, production area is clean, organized and free of any safety hazards. You are responsible for making sure all necessary tools and/or materials required for production start-up are readily available for the team members.
• Communicate with Production Manager and/or Resource Supervisor any and all team member attendance notifications in order to ensure there are sufficient staffing numbers needed for production.
• Works closely and communicates with Production Manager and Resource Supervisor, planning and coordinating shift activities to ensure production schedules are met and accountable for achieving production objectives.
• Responsible for production line and label machine set-up and monitoring of to ensure continual production with no down time.
• Verifies and ensures all labels contain accurate information and all production documentation is completed in a legible manner.
• Achieve and maintain compliance with company and federally mandated regulations, including but not limited to, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), OSHA, FDA and SQF guidelines.
• Monitor and reinforce all quality assurance policies, procedures and checks; metal checks, weights, temperatures, foreign objects, and completion of all necessary documentation in legible manner for regulatory compliance.
• Communicate to management any issues and/or concerns which need immediate attention.

The maintenance tech is responsible for timely completion of routine repairs, maintenance requests, and work order throughout the facility.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements on engines, motors, conveyor systems, production machines and wrapping machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
• Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operations; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
• Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.
• Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring devices.
• Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels and straightedges.
• Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventative maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.

Quality Assurance Technician

The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for conducting, auditing, inspecting, testing, and supporting Michael’s Cookies Food Safety, Quality Programs and Food Manufacturing Regulations. Each technician must appropriately monitor and respond to all process operating guidelines and comply with GMP & Safety policies. This position requires both independent and collaborative participation within a department team and does not include any direct reports to manage. Individual must be able to work in a manufacturing environment, stand, sit and/or move for prolonged periods of time and lifting up to 25lbs within additional support.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Performing environmental sampling of equipment, drains, and raw and finished products.
• Calibration of thermometers and scales on a daily basis.
• Monitor sanitation standard operating procedures and document SSOP’s in accordance with the companies program.
• Monitoring and documenting the quality of packaging, raw materials, and finished products.
• Monitoring foreign material detection and rejection.
• Generating and completing the required records and documentation on a daily basis for each product line in accordance to the customer’s specifications.
• Perform HACCP monitoring and verification for all critical control points and quality control points of the company’s HACCP programs.
• Preforms internal audits and maintains records necessary for quality control.
• Working alongside production employees.
• Monitor and ensure food security and safety.
• Monitor product processing, consistency, and packaging integrity by conducting analytical testing, sensory, product/ingredient sampling, as well as documentation verifications for quality assurance and measurement analysis.
• Takes action on any quality noncompliance and records all results in the Quality Management System.
• Document investigations, findings, root cause analysis, and situations that occur within the shift.
• Hold product not within specification by generating hold tags and to distribute to the proper personal. Assist in the disposition of Hold Product when needed. Maintain the QA Hold system on a daily basis.
• Maintains daily retention sample procedure for finished goods item.
• Support operation on quality-related activities, such as pre-operational follow-up verifications, product start-up, and end of run verifications, and technical assistance as needed.
• Assist with routine and situational GMP/Food safety inspections, exercises, systems, and/or investigations for any quality, food safety & security concerns.
• Perform testing of raw material sampling to finish product and Sensory evaluation (cupping).
• Conduct QA line audits & GMP inspections.
• May perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:
• H.S. diploma with additional specialized training where a thorough knowledge of food safety principles and HACCP was gained
• Three (3) to five (5) years experience in quality assurance in a food processing environment.
• Must possess basic math and computer skills, and be able to read and analyze process charts, graphs, and logs.
• Must possess good analytical and logical problem-solving skills.
• Must be HACCP certified, or be able to become HACCP certified.
• Must have excellent oral and written skills at a technical and general level.
